The capability to generate high quality tooling is very important in today's competitive environment and the drive for short lead times.
FACC has extensive experience in the design and fabrication of both the tools with which composite components are built and the master models from which the tools are created. FACC's experts are investigating new materials and new tool-building techniques to support in-house composite component fabrication but also to supply its customers with user-friendly and cost-effective toolings.
All designs are done on CAD/CAM systems, either UnigraphicsTM or CATIATM, starting from the loftline of the customer or the loftline from FACC's interior database. These data are used to machine aluminium curing tools directly or to generate the tool surfaces for individual parts and can be used to drive NC-machining centers that cut master models out of Ureal.

The tooling does not end with the molds for curing. From the same database, tools are manufactured for automated NC-trimming as well as for the assembly of individual components ready to install into the aircraft systems.
